Spicy Green Juice Recipe with Chef Gary Dowse
One of my new favorite juice recipes, and if this is what you need to drink to detoxify and cleanse your body, then I'm in.
Drinking green juice daily is one of the BEST things you can do for your health, because green vegetable juices are the optimal food for cleansing, detoxifying and healing your body.
Green juice contains chlorophyll (the blood of plants) and is remarkably similar to our own blood (hemoglobin).
Drinking a glass of freshly extracted, cold-pressed green juice daily provides your body with a highly concentrated, powerful, instantly absorbable, vibrant nutrition that has many benefits for the body.
Here are some of the benefits of green juice:
- Healthy, radiant skin
- Improved energy
- weight loss
- Digestive health
- Rich in amino acids for building proteins
- Rich in vitamin K for calcium
- Rich in plant-based iron
Happy juicing!

The taste
The taste is highly addictive, with the perfect amount of sweetness to balance the spicy flavor. It's clean, refreshing, and very easy to drink.
Ingredients
- 1 celery stalk
- 1 cucumber
- 2 apples
- 1/2 bell pepper (green)
- 1 handful of parsley
- 1 ginger root (2cm)
- 1 Jalapeno
Juicing time: 3 minutes
Juice quantity: 600ml
Servings: 2

Preparation
celery
- Cut the rods into small, thumb-sized pieces across the rods (this shortens the long, fibrous cellulose fibers and prevents them from wrapping around the press).
- You can juice celery leaves, but this adds bitterness, so discard them if you don't like that.
- REVO830: No need to cut into small pieces
-
AUTO10S: Cut long pieces so they fit into the funnel.
Cucumber
- Cut into pieces that fit into the opening.
- Juice with the peel on.
apples
- Remove the stems and all stickers.
- Juice whole apples, including peel and cores.
- Halve or quarter them if they are too large to fit into the wide opening.
Parsley
- Roughly chop the leaves and stems.
- Juice by the handful
Ginger
- Wash and dry
- Cut into thin pieces the size of your thumbnail, leaving the peel on.
Jalapeno
- Cut off the end with the hard stem.
- Halve and remove the seeds (you can juice the seeds, but only if you like it spicy!!!)
Cold-press juicing method
Start with the cucumber pieces.
Once they have been pressed through the juicer, add the celery pieces by the handful and let the machine squeeze and press each handful.
Next, add the ginger, the jalapeno, and then the bell pepper.
Take a handful of parsley, squeeze it into a small ball in your hand, and then put the ball into the juicer.
Finish with the hard apples to press the light parsley through the press.
Tip: This can get really hot depending on the jalapeños used and whether or not you juice the seeds. Try cutting off a small piece from the end and tasting the spiciness before juicing.
AUTO10S Layering: Parsley, cucumber, jalapeno, apple, celery, ginger
